Following a herd of elephants day after day can be an arduous process, but by spending a lot of time with them, they relax around you and just go about their daily lives. This herd was doing their morning walk to a body of water in Amboseli's dry season.
I love how kicked up dust looks in a black and white photo, it really increases the layers and the depth of the image, while adding a little more contrast.

I recommend a border of at least 1cm just so you don't lose any of the picture in the mounting or framing process. I personally like to use a larger border (around 3cm) on the larger prints, especially if you don't intend on mounting them, this is more for aesthetic reasons.
A 12x16" print with a mount would require a 16x20" frame
