When I was fresh out of university, I knew I needed to get some hands on experience if I were to become a wildlife filmmaker/photographer, so I took to Richmond Park to make my own mini documentary. This involved a lot of very early, cold autumn mornings, to beat the crowds and get the nicest light and views. Often these mornings were foggy, but with the right level of fog, it helped add to the views of the sunrise. The stags calling helped me find them, and sometimes I was lucky enough to find an impressive male, like this one, silhouetted against a beautiful backdrop.

This is one of my earliest photographs that I have on here, and offers a reminder that with passion and dedication, even a less experienced person can capture a great moment.

  • I recommend a border of at least 1cm just so you don't lose any of the picture in the mounting or framing process. I personally like to use a larger border (around 3cm) on the larger prints, especially if you don't intend on mounting them, this is more for aesthetic reasons.

  •  A 12x16" print with a mount would require a 16x20" frame
